Coconut Yogurt

I started getting deliveries of fresh coconut meat and water from the mylkman, and it was mere minutes before I started brainstorming… coconut kefir, coconut milk, coconut YOGURT!  I love yogurt, and a good vegan yogurt can be hard to find.

Here’s how I do it:


2 cups fresh coconut meat OR frozen fresh young thai coconut (thawed)

1/2 cup water

1/2 teaspoon probiotics powder*


lime, salt, stevia

Blend the coconut, water, and probiotics powder until smooth.

Put it in a glass jar and cover with a cheesecloth and rubber band.

Sit the jar in a warm spot in the kitchen OR the lowest setting in your dehydrator for 8-10 hours. I like mine tangy, so I leave it up to 12 hours.

For a key lime flavor, add a squeeze of lime, some sea salt and a drop or two of stevia.





*You can use any probiotic powder. If you have probiotic capsules, you can open the capsule and use the powder inside!
